Tip Top Poultry, a chicken supplier to many major food retailers such as Trader Joe's, Aldi, Kroger, Target and more, has issued two recalls this week for their ready-to-eat products after a USDA sample test received positive results for Listeria contamination. The original recall on Tuesday was updated yesterday to include more retailers.
The products in question were produced between January 21, 2019 and September 24, 2019, and were sold under popular brand names like Butterball and Perdue. Click here to see the full list of recalled products.

Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them and institutions that have purchased these products should not serve them. These products should be discarded immediately or returned to the place of purchase.
Consumption of one of these products could cause listeriosis, a bacterial infection that can cause fever, gastrointestinal symptoms, head and muscle aches, among other symptoms. Those with weakened immune systems, pregnant women, newborns and older adults are most at risk for contracting listeriosis.

Currently, there have been no confirmed reports of listeriosis or other adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Those who believe they may have consumed one of the potentially contaminated products should contact their doctor for further direction.
